Apologies for the number of times I’ve put on Leonard Cohen songs but I still haven’t worked off my enthusiasm at finding so much of his material on YouTube. Below the fold you’ll find a music video (not a live performance) of Cohen singing an old song, one of the first to propel him to stardom – Suzanne.

Though there is a live performance on YouTube where Cohen does a duet with Judy Collins, I just find this version clearer and less ‘hippyish’ and thus I prefer it, though the video itself is a bit tacky and the subtititles in another language rather annoying.

In any case the song is just pure beauty (lyrically and musically) and not at all depressing like some of his stuff can be – it’s an oldie but goodie.

  2. Yeah I like that one.

Couldn’t get with the Beth Orton one for some reason.

They don’t get much sun in the Winter months up in Montreal.
