In order to avoid a repeat of what happened last time when I used the thread culling knife to get a thread back on track and ended up wasting my time time arguing with a dissatisfied customer, commenters should check out the ‘fatwas’ I have now released (link above).

  1. Hey Jason.

I’m trying to get a post going analysing Edneys deep deep fears of warmer winter mornings in Jutland and every time I try anything I get diverted to google.

What do you make of this?

  2. No idea Graeme. Edney is merely reflecting the received opinion on this.

  3. What I mean is why do I keep getting diverted to Google everytime I try to start making a comment?

  6. Its only on that thread.

And it skips to google with the first letter.

It seems that its a SAFARI phenomenon.

Because if I go to explorer the same weird shit isn’t there.

But then I’ve got to log off and log in and get a new password and this sort of JIVE.

And its only on that one thread.

  7. Its a godamned conspiracy of communists/jihadists/peadophiles/cut-throats and Institutional-Economics-Devotees that don’t want me to join the LDP.

Its not the first obstruction I’ve encountered and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

  8. c8to,
When you get a few minutes you might want to have a look at the character set being used. Quote marks seem to be morphing into question marks – it makes some threads where there is a lot of quoting going on (banking is a good example) difficult to read. Both of the below are quote marks, double quotes first –

  9. Odd – the above worked. Retry:
    “Double quotes”, ‘Single Quotes’.

  10. Andrew, importing posts you have written in Word are often the source of quote mark substitution.

  11. fatfingers – I tried that with the second one. I am mystified as to what is happening on the banking thread now. Th eover-abundance of question marks is puzzling me.
