Hard core Kant

leave a comment »

This is a review of a recent book on Kant which places him in the same line of “sensibilists” with Locke, Berkeley and Hume, as distinct from the “intellectualists” who believe in innate ideas – Descartes, Spinoza, Liebniz. The usual categories are “empiricists” and “rationalists” with Kant placed among the rationalists.

However the purpose of this post is not to encourage people to read the book, or even necessarily the review which is really only for people who really care about those things. Maybe it is the effect of a longish lunch but I am amused by the blurb on the reviewer. He is currently writing a doctoral dissertation on Immanuel Kant’s theory of radical evil. He also practices and performs improvisational comedy in New York City.
